Rise 360: ADA Compliance

Tools: Articulate Rise, Canvas

Time: 4 weeks

Client: Idol Academy Project

Deliverables:

Challenge:

Client at the head of company presents situation of increased amount of employees in organization identifying as having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  Client was concerned that the department supervisors and managers may not be familiar with current guidelines and accommodations available for these employees.

Solution:

After assessing the prior knowledge of managerial staff and examining current data indicating the need for intervention, I decided a 1 hour eLearning course would address the gap in knowledge and usage of appropriate modifications by department supervisors.  A job aid was also created to address the more specific, but often overlooked, condition of rejection sensitivity dysphoria, which is sometimes present with persons with ADHD.

Result:

To measure the success of this training, six weeks afterwards, supervisors and managers could be asked how they had applied the training.  Questions could include levels of confidence about their ability to recognize and accommodate employees with ADHD in the workplace, feelings of the overall culture and acceptance, and the level of appreciation for positive aspects of ADHD.
